How to test the actual speed of your internet?
it is doubtful whether the term internet can be found by people who have not heard it in this decade. the internet has become so intertwined with us that we don’t even realize what we use the internet for in our daily lives. the speed of the internet is very important. many of us don’t care about it.
Many of us take a look at the amazing packages of internet providers when we have wifi or broadband lines. I have an internet line of 5 Mbps and 10 Mbps. But have you ever wondered if you are actually getting a speed of 5MB in line A of 5 Mbps?
find out more;
today we’re going to talk about this.
how do you measure your internet speed?
IN FACT, WHEN WE’RE ON THE LINE, THEY TELL US IT’S SO MB’S LINE. MANY INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDERS (ISPS) USE OUR FAST.COM OR OKLA SPEED TEST SOFTWARE TO SHOW SPEED 5 MB OR 10 MB.
is that really the speed of our 5 MB line? at all, the speed that fast shows is actually a part of the speed of our mainline.
WHEN YOU TAKE A LINE, YOU WILL SEE IN MANY PLACES THAT IT WILL BE WRITTEN IN THE PACKAGE BDIX SPEED OR FTP SPEED, YOUTUBE OR STREAMING SPEED, INTERNET OR BROWSING SPEED, AND DOWNLOAD SPEED.
THE SPEED YOU SEE IN FAST OR OOKLA ACTUALLY SHOWS THE SPEED OF STREAMING OR YOUTUBE. SO THIS SPEED ACTUALLY HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH OUR MAIN INTERNET SPEED. THE STREAMING SPEED IS ALWAYS A LITTLE HIGHER. IT CAN ACTUALLY CONTROL THE ISP MASS. THE BDIX OR FTP SPEED IS BASICALLY THE MOVIE DOWNLOAD OF OUR ISP OR THE SPEED OF WATCHING MOVIES FROM OUR ISP SERVERS, STREAM, OR LIVE TV, FOR THIS WE CAN DROP THE MOVIE AT A LOT OF HIGH SPEED IF WE DROP THE MOVIE FROM THE ISP.
actual download speed of an internet line or wifi/broadband line
after you take the line, you are surprised that when you download a file, it is downloaded at a speed of 230 kb/s. you wonder what’s the matter with auctioning so many MB’s lines and downloading at such low speeds.
IN FACT, THERE IS A REASON OR AN EXPLANATION FOR THIS, MANY ISPS DO NOT SAY THAT MANY PEOPLE SAY IT.
let’s learn today how to measure normal internet speed.
normal internet means the speed we get to download google browsing from any normal site.
One of the mistakes we all make when we take the line is that we don’t know the difference between Mbps and MBps. Everyone thinks of the two as the same thing. That’s actually our mistake for this, we think that if we take a line of 5 MB, 5 MB will be downloaded every second.
In fact, for every 1 Mbps, you will get a download speed of 128 KB/s. Now if your line is 5 Mbps, then you will get the maximum download speed of 128*5=640 KB/s. If there is a line of 10 MB, you will get a speed of 1.2 MB/s.
Now let’s break down a little bit the speed of Fast and Oakla.
they actually divide our speed into 4 parts:
download: this speed actually shows how many bits we can download at each second.
upload: here, when we actually upload a file somewhere, the bit shows the upload speed.
connection: here shows how many connections our line is capable of making per second.
ping: this is actually called the latency of the internet server. that is, after you give a command, it shows how long it takes.
in many cases, this speed depends on the type of line the customer uses. many people use optical fiber while many use cat 5 cable wire lines. compared to the cable, the speed of the line of optical fiber is higher and the ping is less. and the speed at peak hours can be below the level I described by the service.
now we will look at the speed level by line:
- ISDN: 64 Kbit/s
- DSL / broadband 1000 to 16000: 1024 to 16384 Kbit/s
- VDSL: max. 50 Mbit/s or 100 Mbit/s
- Cable: max. up to 500 Mbit/s
- Fiber: max. up to 1 Gbit/s
In the mobile sector:
- GPRS: max. 55 Kbit/s
- EDGE: max. 220 Kbit/s
- 3G: max 384 Kbit/s
- HSPA: max. 7.2 or 14 Mbit/s
- HSPA+: 42 Mbit/s
- 4G: max. 50 or 100 or 500 Mbit/s
this was the story of internet speed. this post is written to my very knowledge, so if it is a mistake, you will see forgiveness in a beautiful light and point out the mistake. thank you
